BIO 419 Introduction to Cancer Biology
Cancer is a broad class of diseases which play a significant role in human health. These diseases arise through multi-step process driven by genetic, epigenetic, metabolic and environmental changes that occur over time. This undergraduate course will cover the underlying molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in carcinogenesis, tumor growth, and metastasis at a basic level. We will also examine the implications of these processes on cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
