DATA 521 Introduction to Bioinformatics

Introduction to bioinformatics terminology, current high-throughput biomedical technologies, basic algorithms, tools, and databases. Topics may include: microarray genomic and proteomic technologies, next generation sequencing, public data repositories, sequence alignment and similarity search algorithms, specialized databases and browsers, methods for gene or protein expression data preprocessing and basic exploratory analysis.
